LEARN & TRAIN

Part of BBTC’s mandate is to regularly create opportunities to train and share our devising methodology through skill building workshops and apprenticeships.

BBTC team is available to be invited to your community to lead workshops in specific areas of interest within theatre creation. Contact us at  bluebirdtheatrecollective@gmail.com for general inquiries.

Keep an eye out here for upcoming workshop and apprenticeship opportunities.

Submissions

At the moment BBTC is not at place to accept submissions but we hope to be in the near future. Stay tuned for more information.

“Our work is always focused on expanding the creative possibilites of the actor's body and imagination; creating stories that are culturally and socially active, and physically vigorous.”

COMMUNITY AGREEMENT

(Originally created for FIC 2020 - Tawiah Ben-Eben M’Carthy and Kamini MK, adapted by Blue Bird Theatre Collective)

·         We believe that all truths are valid. We know that reality is not neutral is the outcome of a myriad of stories with many lost, obstructed, or misunderstood from dominant discourse.

·         We acknowledge and embrace the infinite variations of lived experiences and the complexity of human beings, which becomes visible with time and trust.

·         We assume good intentions and prioritize transparency through open discussion, allowing space to meet across differences.

·         We are continually working on the ability to apologize and forgive, understanding that part of the human experience includes moments of discomfort and unintentional harm.

·         We recognize that there can be a cost to the creative process and believe that taking care of oneself is essential to the wellbeing of the collective.
